What is the mission of SponsorCare?

Journey Church has developed a sponsorship program designed to address the immediate needs of children living in extreme poverty in Cap-Haitian, Haiti and 7 villages deep in the mountains of Ecuador. Because of you, each month we are able to provide food, clothing, access to healthcare and share the gospel of Jesus to over 1,000 children in living in improvised communities in Ecuador and Haiti.

How much does it cost to sponsor a child through SponsorCare.

Your $30 monthly donation goes directly to the child and their family to provide food, clothing, a Christian education, medical treatment and financial support directly towards the child’s family.

Are my contributions to SponsorCare tax-deductible?

Yes. All contributions are tax-deductible.

Does my child lose benefits if I have to cancel my sponsorship?

Yes, unfortunately most families cannot afford school tuition and have no choice but to leave the program when sponsorship stops. However, our team works hard to connect children with new sponsors before there is a lapse in their monthly care. To inquire about canceling your child sponsorship, please email kristen@sponsorcare.org. You may discontinue your sponsorship at any time.

What specific benefits will the child I sponsor receive?

The child you sponsor will receive opportunities and services that most of the world's poorest children never see. These opportunities include:The opportunity to receive an education:Most schools in Haiti are privately funded and many families cannot afford to attend school. Your sponsorship is providing the cost of school fees, clothing and supplies.

Your sponsorship will allow one special child to stay in school and get the most out of his or her education.

The opportunity to be healthy: The health of the child you sponsor will be monitored and care will be provided as needed. Children are taught about hygiene and how to maintain personal health.

The opportunity to develop self-confidence and social skills: The child you sponsor will be part of a church-based program where Christian adults offer love, guidance, personal attention, guided recreation and safety.

The opportunity to hear the gospel and learn about Jesus: Most important, your sponsorship provides the child you sponsor with regular Bible training and encouragement through a local church committed to Christ and the children in its community.

How can I support my sponsor child that is not just financial?

Prayer. Your sponsored child is in need and vulnerable.Your prayers for the health, safety, education and spiritual development of your child are critical. Sponsored children are greatly encouraged when they hear that their sponsors are praying for them. We know that our sponsored. Children pray for you too. Through visits and updates, they tell us that they pray for their sponsor.

How long should my child sponsorship last?

We request that you commit to a minimum of 1 year. Though we hope that you will be able to continue your support of your sponsored child until he or she completes the program.

We recognize that circumstances sometimes change. You may discontinue your child sponsorship at any time.Please understand that a sponsored child's circumstances may change, too. For example, sometimes families move beyond the reach of our program and children no longer have the opportunity to participate.We will inform you as quickly as possible if any such circumstance affects the child you sponsor, and we'll offer you the opportunity to support another child in need of your help.

Where does my child live?

SponsorCare supports children in 4 local schools in and around Cap Haitian, Haiti. Limonade, Milot, Biley and Bas Aviation. All of the children live within walking distance of their school.

As a sponsor, how else can I learn about the child I am supporting?

In addition to letters from your sponsored child, we will send you periodic updates about your child's progress and newsletters about situations in your child's school and home life. You'll have a better understanding of your sponsored child's culture and life. It's quite likely that your vision of God's kingdom will expand. You may even decide to visit your child.

Can I visit my sponsored child in person?

Yes. We encourage you to join a Journey Outreach Missions trip and meet your sponsored child in person. It will be an unforgettable experience for both of you! Check out our schedule of upcoming trips.

How does SponsorCare share the Gospel of Jesus with my sponsored child?

Jesus is the core of our ministry. His life and teachings shape our programs, reflect the spiritual commitments of our staff, and guide how we love people, respect communities and cooperate with nations.Your sponsored child will have the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ and be encouraged to develop a lifelong relationship with God. Each sponsored child receives regular Bible lessons from trained staff and encouragement through the local church partner operating the child development center.
